Poutini and waitaiki

Poutini the Taniwha woke up on a rock “huh i didn’t go to sleep here i went to sleep in the middle of Mayor Island with no rocks”. Ahhhhhhhh! Waitaiki, why did you do that? “I was trying to get your attention, and why are you on one of the rocks out there?” she shouted? “Ummmm I think I teleported because I was sleeping in the river. Waitaiki i am going Tahanga ok? Ok, said Waitaiki. How long will you be? Three days. Ok, I will look after the town. bye, bye. Ok I just need to keep swimming, Poutini said to himself. Swimming under the waves is so cool. Two hours later “I am Finally here” . What do I do here? I think I need to sleep. Poutini  ‘Snoring’  three hours later. “What can I do now? I will come back early. Two hours again… I am back! Shouted Poutini. Why are you back so early? I didn’t know what to do. Ok I feed the people. At night they all went to sleep. The next morning the town had a milo and the town went to Hokitika wow they went to the movies and Greymouth, Christchurch was their favorite. Then they went back.

did you like it comment if you did? my favourite bit was when they went to Hokitika and Greymouth then Christchurch 😄

Diamante poem

This week we have been leaning

about Nouns, Adjectives and Verbs. What those words mean Verbs are doing words. Adjectives are describing words. Nouns are things that you can feel. A Diamante poem is like this and then you put the words into a diamond shape. you have to think of two opposite words and then write about Nouns Adjectives and Verbs what they look like and stuff. You can make a Diamante poem. Do you like what we have been doing this week?

The lucky house

The book is about if a bug comes in your house, granddad says you will be lucky. Granddad,s always talking about insects, he says that if a beetle is on your jacket, you we’re lucky if a ant walks across your foot, and you we’re extra lucky if you find a ladybird crawling on your sheets. My group was learning about

  • Drawing conclusions and getting meaning from the text by ‘reading between the lines’ (inference; inferring).
  • Inferring meaning from punctuation (like exclamation marks!)
